ARAMARK Contract Victory!
On December 12, 2008, food service workers represented by UNITE HERE Local 26 voted 194-1 in favor of ratifying a proposed six-year
contract agreement with ARAMARK Corp., their employer. The over 350 workers covered under the contract are employed at the Hynes
Convention Center in Back Bay and the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in South Boston.
The contract agreement includes improved job security, higher wages, and additional pensions and health care benefits.
The agreement was facilitated by Mayor Menino, who asked former Boston Redevelopment Authority official Harry Collins to help
mediate the contract negotiation process.
